PhotoMonth 2025 was the reedition of Maggie Pinhorn's original East London PhotoMonth Photography Festival that ran from 2001 to 2018. In 2025, PhotoMonth brought together over 60 exhibitions across South and North East London postcodes with an open call exhibition at the Arts Pavilion at Mile End Park. The aim of the Festical was to promote inclusivity and accessibility in London's photography scene.
PhotoMonth will return in October 2026, as a month-long celebration of photography, this time all over the city of London. We will return with our Open Call exhibition at The Arts Pavilion at Mile End, collaborations with university students from around the country, as well as a Film Programme organised once again by Tom Hunter.

PhotoMonth 2026 Open Call
Unity and Community
PhotoMonth will return in October 2026 with another open call exhibition as the heart of the Festival at The Art Pavilion, Mild End Park.
The theme of the open call is Unity and Community. We encourage artists to draw inspiration from their own lived experiences or observations, living amidst drastic regression toward division and discrimination.
One of London’s strengths as a city renowned for its arts and culture is its people’s creation and preservation of community. Given that PhotoMonth was founded with the belief that photography is for all, we aim to uphold these values and represent diverse communities and perspectives, reflective of the divergent and diverse cultures, practices, and people that make up the city.
We welcome submissions from all artists using photography as a part of their practice, regardless of age or career level.
